This action was commenced in the superior court of the state of Washington for the county of Stevens for the purpose of securing an adjudication by a court of competent jurisdiction of the adverse claims of the parties to certain mining ground under and by virtue of the provisions of section 2326 of the Revised Statutes of the United States; the plaintiff in the action claiming under locations thereof made on the 20th day of February, 1896, and the defendant under a location as the “Mountain View* Claim,” made on the 16th day of October, 1895.
