THE COURT.

A verdict in favor of the plaintiff having been rendered in this action the court, on motion of the defendants, entered judgment in their favor notwithstanding the verdict.

The action arose out of the publication of certain articles in the “Japanese American News”, a newspaper printed in the Japanese language and circulated among Japanese people, the articles appearing on March 12, 14, 15 and 16, 1932. No question is raised as to the libelous character of the matter published, nor that the plaintiff is entitled to damages from the person or persons responsible for the publication,…
