Plaintiff Jerry Duignan filed an amended complaint against Lincoln Towers Insurance Agency, Inc. (Lincoln Towers), alleging a breach of fiduciary duty and a violation of the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act (Consumer Fraud Act) (815 ILCS 505/1 et seq. (West 1992)). The circuit court granted Duignan partial summary judgment and awarded him $23,379.50 in attorney fees and $150,000 in punitive damages. Lincoln Towers appeals.
