Defendant-Appellee Larry James Ortiz (“Ortiz”) was indicted under Hawaii Revised Statutes section 134-7(b) for the possession of a firearm by a person convicted of a felony. Plaintiff-Appellant State of Hawaii (“State”) appeals from the granting of Ortiz’s motion to suppress evidence of the firearm and the dismissal of the case for lack of legal evidence. We reverse.
