By Act of February 22, 1830 (Acts Va. 1830, c. 133), the Virginia Legislature authorized the president and directors of the corporation known as the Literary Fund to *973release to .Lewis Eisemninger such portion of his lands as, because of failure to pay taxes, “have been vested” in the Literary Fund, on such terms as shall seem to them to be equitable and just.
