This appeal is from a contested election proceeding under title 49, chapter 8, of the Revised Statutes, and arose in the following manner: On August 8, 1924, there whs held in the city of Austin, Tex., a special election to determine whether or not 22 amendments to the existing charter of said city should be adopted; some of which repealed parts of the existing charter, while others amended it.
