LYDON, Senior Judge:

This child vaccine case, one of first impression for the court, is filed pursuant to *552the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 (the Act), Pub.L. No. 99-660, 100 Stat. 3758 (codified as amended at 42 U.S.C. §§ 300aa-l to 300aa-23 (1982 & Supp. IV 1986)). It is before the court on petitioner’s objection to the Special Master’s report recommending dismissal of petitioner’s claim for compensation for injuries her minor son sustained when he was inoculated with the pertussis component of the DPT (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis) vaccine.
