SLIGHTS, J.

I. INTRODUCTION

The State of Delaware has subpoenaed a reporter from The News Journal Company (“The News Journal”) to testify at trial regarding statements purportedly made by the defendant, Derek Rogers (“Rogers”), during an interview with the reporter conducted within hours of the shooting and attempted robbery at issue in this case. The reporter, Terri Sanginiti (“Sanginiti”), has moved to quash the subpoena on the ground that she enjoys a qualified privilege to refuse to testify under the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, 1 and the Delaware…
