John R. Price died on February 24, 1913, at the age of eighty-two, leaving a will dated July 21, 1910, by which a life interest in all his property was given to his two daughters, Jane Price Stevenson and Cordelia Price Stevenson, and the fee to the children of one of them. Gladys Price Stahl, the only surviving child of a deceased son of the testator, brought an action against the beneficiaries to recover one-third of the estate, on the ground that in 1912 her grandfather had promised that she should have it, the promise being founded upon a…
