Emma Alexander was convicted of a violation of the prohibition law, the specific charge in the indictment being that she “did sell and barter for a valuable consideration to one Henry Baldwin and Ernest Hinton certain quantity of intoxicating wines, beers, and liquors.” On her trial Ernest Hinton testified, that he bought some whisky from the defendant at her house in Cobb county, in the city of Marietta, about six months previously; that he went to her house and told her that he wanted some liquor, and-she took him to the middle room of the house, and brought out a quart bottle of whisky…
