BATEMAN, Justice.

The appellee Tasinc Corporation sued on two promissory notes signed by the appellant Rosenthal Produce Company, Inc., hereinafter called Rosenthal, and to foreclose chattel mortgages on systems of automatic sprinklers installed in two produce buildings in Mercedes, Texas. The appellant Mercedes Fruit & Vegetable Company, hereinafter called Mercedes, was alleged to claim an interest in the systems.
