The complaint in this action alleged, in substance, that the-plaintiff was the owner and entitled to the possession of 171 bank checks- and drafts, described in a schedule annexed to the complaint, of the aggregate value of $10,221.39; that the defendant, without the authority of the-plaintiff, obtained possession of said checks and drafts, and wrongfully disposed of and converted the same to its own use; and demanded judgment against the defendant for the sum of $10,221.39, with interest on the several amounts of the said check and drafts from the days of the dates thereof respectively.
