The Clerk of the Criminal Court of Baltimore City sued the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to recover fees for services rendered by the clerk in the performance of his official duties. From a judgment in the clerk’s favor for the sum of $19,234.91 the city has appealed. The period during which the fees sued for were charged began, with the September Term, 1916, of the Criminal Court and extended to the end of the May Term, 1918, which was the last completed term before the institution of the suit.
