A petition for adjudication of wardship was filed against the minor-respondent, J.C., on July 1, 1986, alleging that the respondent had committed the offenses of residential burglary (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 19—3(a)) and theft (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1985, ch. 38, par. 16—1(a)(1)).
