This is a suit for damages brought by John Esten Quarles against Arthur Cullen Lewis, Jr., in which the plaintiff alleges that due to an active breach of a contract to *107purchase real estate made by the defendant with the plaintiff, he, the plaintiff, has suffered damages and that he had to expend sums of money in defense of numerous suits and to pay interest on money borrowed. Further, he alleges that due to the breach by the defendant he had to pay taxes for the year 1949.
