The plaintiffs, Louise Bowman Vick and Melissa Vick Wilkins (hereinafter collectively referred to as "the Vicks"), sued J.C. Bradford Co., L.L.C.; PaineWebber Group, Inc.; PaineWebber, Inc.; UBS PaineWebber, Inc.; Everett F.
