Appeals are taken from convictions for criminal solicitation of capital murder. The jury assessed punishment at 30 years for each appellant.

The nature of appellants’ contentions requires a review of the evidence.

For approximately three years, appellant William Spencer had been involved in divorce litigation with his wife Helene in Chambers County. Spencer had been a rancher and rice farmer, but at the time of his arrest was working on an oil drilling rig. The other appellant, Eleanor Saunders, owned a washateria in Winnie.
