BECKER, Justice.

Defendant was charged by county attorney’s information with the crime of murder. Jury trial resulted in verdict of guilty of murder in the second degree. He was sentenced to SO years imprisonment. He appeals. We affirm.

On July 6, 1968, at about 7:30 a. m., Mary Stanfield, an elderly lady who lived alone in her home in Iowa City, was found dead on her living room floor. She had been beaten on the head with a fairly sharp instrument. The autopsy showed she had been struck seven times. Three of the blows penetrated the skull.
