On October 14, 1938, the city of Minneapolis applied to the district court of Hennepin county for a determination of the settlement of Claus Olaf Hanson (hereafter called Olaf Hanson) and Julia Hanson, his wife, together with their eight children. Joined as interested parties were the county of Beltrami; the city of Moorhead; Morken, Moland, Spring Prairie, and Glyndon townships in Clay county; and Richwood, Sugarbush, and Detroit townships in Becker county.
