OPINION

SPROUSE, Senior Circuit Judge:

A jury convicted Marvin Reedy under 18 U.S.C. § 922(g)(1), which prohibits a felon from possessing a firearm. The events that' led up to his conviction occurred around midnight on July 22, 1991. At that time, residents near the 1600 block of West Washington Street, Charleston, West Virginia, reported hearing gunshots.
