Syed Ali petitions for review of decisions of the Board of Immigration Appeals (“BIA”) affirming an immigration judge’s (“IJ”) denial of his request for a continuance and denying his subsequent motion for reconsideration. Ali sought to continue his removal hearing to await a disposition on his son Zeeshan’s application for American citizenship; once naturalized, Zeeshan could sponsor Ali’s petition to adjust his status to that of a lawful permanent resident.
