The defendants, Jeffrey Mayfield and Lamark Johnson, were jointly tried before a jury and were both convicted of armed robbery (111. Rev. Stat. 1975, ch. 38, par. 18 — 2), and sentenced to a minimum of four years and a maximum of four years and one day with the Illinois Department of Corrections.
