After a bench trial, defendant, Anthony W. Mims, was convicted of possession of a stolen motor vehicle in violation of section 4—103(a)(l) of the Illinois Vehicle Code (the Code) (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1989, ch. 95½, par. 4—103(a)(l)). In this cause, defendant raises the following issues: (1) whether defendant’s conviction for possession of a stolen motor vehicle must be reversed where no evidence was presented to prove that the vehicle was stolen by someone other than defendant when defendant received it, and (2) whether defendant is…
