The defendant, David Kenneth Drumm (Mr. Drumm or “the defendant”), was the Chief Executive Officer of Anglo Irish Bank (“Anglo”) from January 2005 until his resignation - in December 2008, after which he relocated to.the United States. Irish prosecutors allege that he (and others) fraudulently concealed the bank’s true financial condition in the time leading up to the 2008 financial crisis, and in 2014 charged him with 33 criminal offenses.
