Facts of Case

The defendant appeals from his conviction of the crimes of attempted rape in the second degree and assault in the second degree.

The victim and a girl friend of hers spent several hours at a Redmond, Washington cocktail lounge described in the testimony as "more or less a single's bar." She testified that when she left alone to drive home, she was accosted outside the bar by the defendant, with whom she had danced, and who asked her to drive him home.
