On March 27, 1964, Jennifer Jones, aged ten, was taken by her mother, Hazel O’Banner, to see Dr. George Logwood, the family dentist. Dr. Logwood informed Mrs. O’Banner that Jennifer needed oral surgery and referred her to defendants’ clinic. On Saturday, March 28, 1964, Mrs. O’Banner and Jennifer went to defendants’ clinic between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. They were asked by the receptionist if they had an appointment and they replied that they did not.
