¶ 1. In July 2003, LeKénray Taylor was shot in the chest with a high-powered weapon during a drive-by shooting in Rosedale, Mississippi. He was transported to Delta Regional Medical Center (DRMC) but passed away several hours later. Willie Taylor, LeKenray’s mother, subsequently filed suit against DRMC, alleging negligence. In 20Í3, the case finally proceeded to trial.
