A bankruptcy discharge is a powerful legal right. In the right circumstances, it provides an opportunity for an unfortunate debtor to climb up and out of the depth of debt to start life anew without the albatross of financial stress. The discharge is the culmination of a successful bankruptcy case. The exercise of this legal right comes with certain responsibilities.
