Appellants were formerly police officers in the City and County of San Francisco. Said appellants and other former police officers filed a petition in the superior court for a writ of review and a writ -of mandate. They sought thereby to obtain the annulment of the action of the Police Commission of said City and County in dismissing said officers and to compel said Commission to reinstate them in their former positions.
