¶1 Manuel Hidalgo was convicted of being a participant in the much-publicized “Wenatchee sex ring” and served over four years in prison before his judgment and sentence was reversed on the basis of the newly discovered evidence that discredited the “sex ring” investigation and resulting charges.1 Mr. Hidalgo then brought this malpractice action against his public defenders and their law firm.
