This action was originally brought by the plaintiff, as assignee of the La Belle Ranche Horse Importing Company, to recover for the alleged conversion by the defend- ^ ant William Lee, as sheriff of Lake county, of certain goods, merchandise, and property, taken by him from the possession of the plaintiff, the same being the assigned property. The balance of the defendants are the indemnitors of the sheriff.
