Plaintiff-appellant Donna L. Maguire (Donna) was assaulted while cleaning the men’s restroom at the Hilton Hawaiian Village (the Hilton or the hotel) in Honolulu. Donna was an employee of Hawai'i Care & Cleaning (HCC), which had entered into an agreement with the hotel to provide cleaning services at . the Hilton. As a result of the assault, Donna and her husband, plaintiff-appellant Robert L.
