This is the direct appeal by the defendant, Roy E. Humphrey, from juiy convictions upon retrial of one count of first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm. His convictions of one count of first-degree murder, one count of aggravated assault, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm were reversed by this court, and the case was remanded for a new trial in State v. Humphrey, 252 Kan. 6, 845 P.2d 592 (1992) (Humphrey I). In…
