|2The defendant, Derichard W. Lavy, was charged by grand jury indictment *1004with one count of second degree murder, a violation of La. R.S. 14:80.1, and pled not guilty. Following a jury trial, he was found guilty as charged by unanimous verdict. He was sentenced to life imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.
