This writ of error brings before us for review the record of the conviction of John F. Hoge, at the November special term, A. D. 1885, of the Grundy circuit court, of the crime of larceny. It was proved on the trial, and not controverted, that two horses, owned by Lars Thorsen, were stolen on the night of the 31st day of March, A. D. 1885, from his barn, in Grundy county, which is two and a half miles west from Morris, in that county, and about twenty-five miles west from Joliet, in Will county; that they were found by Eli Thorsen, a son of Lars, about noon the next day, (April 1,) in a…
