John Phillips and his wife M. A. Phillips, the appellee, and their son L. R. Phillips, the appellant, came to Pulaski county, Kentucky, from Johnson county, Tennessee, in the year 1919 for the purpose of buying a farm in Pulaski county. They contacted Gr. M. Yanhook of Pulaski county who owned a' farm which he desired to sell and after some negotiations the parties reached an .agreement to purchase the farm for the price of $9,000, and made an initial payment of $1,500 on the purchase price and executed five purchase lien notes in the sum of…
