VINSON, Associate Justice.
An application was made by the appellant ;for an oil lease in certain lands, allegedly •in the public domain, with the Register of the United States Public Land Office at Los Angeles, California. This application was denied on the ground that 'the land in question had previously “been patented by the United States as a confirmed private-land claim”, and that decision was affirmed by the Commissioner of the General Land ■ Office.
