Rubin, J.
Plaintiff brought a civil action seeking recovery for injuries sustained as a result of assault, battery, kidnap and rape by defendant. The summons and complaint were delivered to the doorman and a copy mailed to defendant at an address where defendant admitted he resided during testimony given at a criminal trial conducted in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Bergen County, on charges arising out of this incident.
