MURPHY, Circuit Judge.

Ivory Mosby was convicted of being a felon in possession of ammunition and sentenced to fifteen years of imprisonment and five years of supervised release. Although Mosby’s prison sentence ended in September 2007, he remained in federal custody for some three additional years awaiting a hearing in his civil commitment proceeding. Mosby’s civil commitment proceeding was later dismissed, and in November 2010 he was released under supervision.
