HAMILTON, Circuit Judge.

Petitioner Teshome Campbell was convicted in an Illinois state court of first- degree murder for participating in a mob-style beating that killed James Shepherd. No physical evidence linked Campbell to the crime. The State’s case against Campbell hinged on the testimony of three eyewitnesses.
