This is a petition brought under the authority of St. 1912, c. 689, for damage sustained by the town of Stoneham by the taking on January 1, 1898, of Spot Pond by the Metropolitan Water Board under St. 1895, c. 488. A hearing was had before commissioners, whose determination as to damages when accepted by the court is to be final and conclusive. Selectmen of Danvers v. Commonwealth, 184 Mass. 502.
