I. For a number of years prior to June, 1920, there were two papers published at Bloomfield, Davis County, Iowa, known as The Bloomfield Democrat and The Davis County Republican. Owing to the scarcity and high cost of print paper, and the high cost of labor, it was deemed best by the management of these respective papers that they be combined, and issued as one paper.
