The defendants in this case were each convicted on three counts of indictments which charged them with (1) knowingly possessing a prohibited firearm (a bomb), made in violation of Chapter 53 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1964 without the payment of a making tax as required by 26 U.S.C. § 5821; (2) knowingly possessing a prohibited firearm which had not been registered to them as required by Chapter 53, Title 26, United States Code, both in violation of 26 U.S.C. § 5861(d) and 26 U.S.C. § 5871; and (3) conspiring with each other and with others to commit said offenses in…
