A jury convicted the defendant, Paul Jones, of murder in the first degree by reason of deliberate premeditation. The defendant filed a timely notice of appeal. His motion for a new trial, filed in this court and remanded to the Superior Court, was denied. His appeal from that ruling has been consolidated with his direct appeal.
