John Calvin Wright, IV (“Movant”) was convicted by a jury of second-degree murder, a violation of Section 565.021, 1 and armed criminal action, a violation of Section 571.015, in connection with the death of Johnny Bob Melton (“Victim”). The trial court sentenced Movant, in accordance with the jury’s recommendation, to fifteen years imprisonment for second-degree murder and five years imprisonment for armed criminal action, with the sentences to be served consecutively.
