Plaintiff, while walking upon the sidewalk in front of defendant’s building, in the city of Missoula, caught her heel in the defective covering of a coal-hole, fell, and was injured.

At the time the storeroom, on the ground floor, and the basement thereunder, were rented to one Therriault, who was conducting therein a soft-drink parlor known as the “French Club.” The two upper stories of the building, which were subdivided, were rented to other tenants, for different periods, by defendant.
