The United States commenced this civil in rem forfeiture action on June 4, 2004, seeking forfeiture of United States currency totaling $600,341.00 (the “defendant property”) as property traceable to and/or involved in money laundering and narcotics violations, pursuant to 21 U.S.C. § 881 and 18 U.S.C. §§ 981 and 983.
