OPINION OF THE COURT

WALBURN, Judge:

A military judge sitting as a special court-martial convicted appellant, consistent with his pleas, of disobeying a noncommissioned officer, fleeing apprehension, wrongfully possessing marijuana, wrongfully carrying a concealed weapon, and various violations of Virginia law assimilated into federal law under the Assimilative Crimes Act, 18 U.S.C. § 13 (1996) [hereinafter ACA], to wit: driving while his driver’s license was suspended in violation of Va.Code Ann. § 46.2-301 (two specifications); driving in an improper direction on a one-way roadway or highway…
