The petitioner seeks a writ of habeas corpus pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2254. After a joint jury trial with a codefendant, Steven Russ, both defendants were convicted of armed robbery, party to a crime, contrary to Wis.Stat. §§ 943.32(l)(b), (2) and 939.05. The petitioner was sentenced to imprisonment for seventeen years less time spent in pretrial incarceration. He appealed his conviction to the Wisconsin Court of Appeals.
