Before BOOCHEVER, C. J., RABIN-OWITZ, ERWIN and BURKE, JJ., and DIMOND, J. Pro Tem. RABINOWITZ, Justice.
Chena Hot Springs Road is a two-lane public highway northeast of the city of Fairbanks running in an east-west direction. Due to climatic conditions, during the winter of 1969-70 a number of vehicles were parked on the shoulders of this road. To avoid these and other obstacles, drivers customarily left their lane of travel and traveled down the middle of the road.
